Contractor Handbook

Version 1.0 · How we work together

Welcome to Abliven. This handbook explains how we work together, what we expect from you, and what you can expect from us. It is part of your engagement and is referenced in your Independent Contractor Agreement. It is written in plain language so everything is clear.

A note on what this is: you are an independent contractor, not an employee. This handbook sets out reasonable standards for working with the Company and protecting our business and our clients. It is not an employment policy, and following it does not change your status as an independent contractor.

1. Who we are and what you do

Abliven helps U.S. businesses reduce their exposure to website accessibility lawsuits by finding and fixing real accessibility issues, not by selling cheap overlay widgets. Your role on the Deck Team is to find United States businesses that fit our criteria, verify their details, and record them accurately so the team that follows up has what it needs. You are not closing sales and you are not running a sales process.

Your success is our success. We give you the criteria, the tools, training, a CRM, and support. You bring the effort, the consistency, and the care to get the details right.

2. Conduct and professionalism

You represent Abliven in every contact you make. We expect:

  • Honesty with prospects, clients, and the Company at all times. Never misrepresent the product, the price, the risk, or yourself.
  • Respect and courtesy toward prospects, clients, teammates, and leadership.
  • Composure under pressure. Dead ends and unresponsive contacts are part of the work. Stay professional.
  • No discriminatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive language or behavior, ever.
  • Sound judgment. If you are unsure whether something is appropriate, ask first.

Serious or repeated conduct problems are grounds for ending your engagement.

3. Communication

  • Daily report. Submit your daily report by email or through the Company system at the end of each working day: what you completed, what you plan to do next, and any problems you ran into.
  • Responsiveness. Be reachable on the Company's messaging channels during your working hours. Reply within a reasonable time.
  • Raise issues early. If something is blocking you, if you are struggling with a part of the role, or if you have an idea to improve things, speak up. We would rather hear about a problem early than discover it late.
  • Tone. Keep internal communication clear, respectful, and professional.

4. Attendance and schedule

  • Your schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM U.S. Central Time, which includes a 30-minute lunch.
  • Be online, logged in, and ready to work at the start of your shift.
  • Consistent attendance and punctuality matter. You are paid for the days you work, so attendance is directly your income.
  • Recognized Holidays. You are paid your full daily rate for Recognized Holidays that fall on a weekday and that you do not work. Each one also lowers that month's lead target by 8. We publish the Recognized Holiday list every January.
  • Time off. Paid leave is not provided beyond Recognized Holidays. You may take unpaid time off. Give at least 48 hours' notice where possible, except in genuine emergencies, and make sure your pending work is handled or handed off. Days you do not work are not paid.
  • If you are sick or have an emergency, notify your contact as soon as you can and keep them updated.

5. Tools and equipment

  • You provide and maintain your own computer, headset, and a stable high-speed internet connection, plus a backup plan if your main connection fails.
  • You work from a quiet, private space suitable for U.S. business calls.
  • Use only the Company-provided systems (CRM, dialer, scripts, and tools) for Company work. Do not move Company work into personal tools or accounts.
  • Keep your logins secure. Do not share your access with anyone.

6. Call recording and monitoring

For quality, training, and coaching, the Company may record and monitor your calls, including live supervisor listen, whisper, and barge. This is a normal part of a professional working floor and it is how we help you improve. Inform prospects of recording where required. By working here you consent to this monitoring, as stated in your Agreement.

7. Data privacy and confidentiality

You will handle prospect and client information. Protect it.

  • Follow the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 and the Company's instructions for handling personal data.
  • Use client and prospect data only to do your job. Never for personal use.
  • Never export, copy, photograph, screenshot, or take home the Company's lead lists, prospect lists, client lists, scripts, or pitch deck.
  • Keep all Company information confidential, during and after your engagement, as set out in your NDA.
  • Report any data breach or suspected unauthorized access immediately.

Mishandling data or breaking confidentiality is one of the most serious things you can do here and is grounds for immediate termination plus any remedies under the NDA.

8. Anti-fraud

Trust is the foundation of this team. We have zero tolerance for falsified work. The following are grounds for immediate termination and forfeiture of any related earnings:

  • Submitting fake, fictitious, or invented leads.
  • Submitting the same business more than once to inflate your count.
  • Submitting leads you know do not meet the published qualification criteria.
  • Copying leads from another source and presenting them as your own research.
  • Manipulating the CRM or records to show work that was not done.

A lead only counts when it is real, accurate, and meets the criteria. Padding your numbers hurts you, the team that follows up, and the Company. Bonus paid on a lead later found to be non-qualifying is taken back from your future bonus.

9. How you are paid

This is a summary. Your Agreement is the controlling document.

  • Daily rate. You are paid ₱1,500 for every day you work. Your monthly total depends on how many weekdays fall in the month, so a 20-weekday month pays ₱30,000 and a 23-weekday month pays ₱34,500, at full attendance. There are no tiers and no levels. Everyone on the Deck Team is on the same rate.
  • Recognized Holidays. You are paid ₱1,500 for each Recognized Holiday that falls on a weekday and that you do not work. A Recognized Holiday landing on a Saturday or Sunday is not paid.
  • Lead bonus. You earn ₱185 for every lead past your monthly target, with no cap. Your monthly target is 8 leads multiplied by the working days in that month. Bonuses are worked out on the calendar month and paid on the first Friday at least three days after the month ends, which gives admin time to reconcile.
  • Annual completion bonus. The Company may award a bonus in December to contractors with at least 3 months of service as of December 31. Where awarded it is your total earnings for the year divided by 12, paid on or around December 24. You must still be engaged with Abliven on the payment date. If you leave, or your engagement ends, before that date, the bonus is forfeited in full. It is a gratuity, not a guaranteed entitlement.
  • Rewards program. Spot bonuses, food vouchers, attendance rewards, and leaderboard prizes are discretionary incentives the Company may adjust at any time.
  • Payment. You are paid twice a month, on or around the 15th and the last day of the month, through your chosen channel (EasyPay/Payoneer, Wise, or GCash). If either date falls on a weekend or a Recognized Holiday, you are paid on the business day before it. Your first payment is prorated for the days you worked and lands on the first pay date after your onboarding is complete.

10. KPI expectations

Clear numbers help everyone. The core standards:

  • Target: 8 qualified leads per working day, which is 40 per week. This is a requirement of the role for everyone, not an optional target. You must meet it to keep your engagement, and sustained failure to produce is grounds for ending the engagement.
  • Accuracy: A lead that does not meet the published qualification criteria does not count toward your target. Getting the details right matters as much as the count.
  • Daily activity: Work your assigned research sources every working day and log what you find as you go.
  • CRM compliance: Keep your pipeline, notes, and follow-ups current and accurate in the CRM.
  • Show-up: Consistent attendance and punctuality during your scheduled hours.

These standards drive your performance reviews and your eligibility for the annual completion bonus. Sustained shortfalls are addressed during your evaluation and may affect your engagement.

11. The evaluation period

Your first 90 days are an evaluation period. We use this time to support your ramp, give you coaching, and assess fit. Treat it as your runway to show what you can do.

12. Ending the engagement

Either side may end the engagement on 14 days' written notice. The Company may end it immediately for cause, including fraud, breach of the NDA, serious misconduct, or sustained failure to meet attendance and conduct standards. On exit, return or destroy all Company information and materials as required by your NDA.

This handbook is provided for business use and is not legal advice. It does not create an employment relationship. Where it differs from your Independent Contractor Agreement or NDA, those signed agreements control.
